Information about the position:

The Shipping and Receiving associate is responsible for warehouse functions including, but not limited to shipping/receiving, product handling and storage, order picking, and packing. This position requires strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a warehouse environment.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Inspects incoming shipments for damages or defects; records discrepancies or damages and notifies supervisor.

§ Receives and unloads incoming materials and compares information on packing slip with purchase order to verify accuracy of shipment; may process return shipments from customers.

§ Put all materials and components away in the proper storage location and consolidate materials.

§ Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against work orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct and prepares carton labeling and shipping documentation.

§ Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, unpacks, and/or logs inventory which is shipped or received and completes associated paperwork.

§ Perform cycle counts and be proactive with inventory reconciliation and FIFO (First in/First Out) usage of materials and Investigate inventory discrepancies as they arise.

§ Fill open orders – Pick, pull, wrap, and prepare for customer pick-up or shipping.

§ Clean and organize the warehouse by sweeping floors, removing broken skids and/or pieces of wood, ensure aisles and traffic ways are clear.

§ Responsible for ensuring food safety procedures are properly maintained in the warehouse.

§ Delivers items to requisitioning departments and obtains authorized signatures for accepted items.

§ May operate dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading and unloading supplies and equipment; may operate shrink-wrap machine.

§ Follows established departmental policies, procedures, and objectives, continuous quality improvement objectives, and safety (OSHA), environmental, and maintain a clean and orderly work area.

§ Ensures shipping, receiving, storage and distribution are performed in an efficient manner. Takes precautions to protect warehouse contents against loss.

§ Confer with company managers/supervisors, regarding the coordination of all warehouse activities.

§ Must be able to follow directions (verbal) and work with minimal supervision.

§ Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS

§ Requires a high school diploma/GED.

§ Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook

§ Forklift certified.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Physical Demands: Employee is required to be able to lift to 75 lbs. and work in both a seated and standing position.

Work Environment: This position requires one to work both in an office environment and warehouse. There is a moderate level of noise.

Must be able to twist/turn, reach over shoulders and stand/walk on a continual basis.

Information about the position:

As a QA Technician, this position will have ownership and overall responsibility for the quality of product in Primary/Secondary Packaging; i.e., inspection of product in process as well as inspection of finished product as per Batch Records and Master Run Sheet specifications. The QA Technician will be responsible for addressing quality issues and support and comply with all quality management systems, food safety and employee safety programs and other responsibilities, as assigned.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assure consistent quality of production.
  • Follow company Standard Operating Procedures and comply with Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Inspect in process and finished product as specified in our Standard Operating Procedures and on Master Run Sheet
  • Assure the effective completion and documentation of QA inspections on Batch Production Records entry to assure products adhere to quality specifications
  • Perform magnet and screen inspections as specified in our HACCP program and documents results
  • Perform Pre-Operational and Changeover inspections as required
  • Perform scale calibrations, as needed
  • Responsible for addressing quality issues as necessary.
  • Take actions when there is a non-conformance to food safety requirements and/or product quality specifications, including placing products on hold, re-testing of products, and ensuring all actions taken are properly documented
  • Responsible for releasing all incoming materials into production

§ Follow all safety procedures.

§ Maintain safe and efficient use of equipment and tools.

§ Report any injury or accident and/or any unsafe conditions immediately to supervisor.

§ Follow all Company policies and procedures

§ Work shifts, as needed. Overtime required, as needed. Regular and appropriate attendance is expected.

QUALIFICATION/REQUIREMENTS

§ High School Diploma and minimum 3 years experience in Quality Assurance in a food manufacturing, pharmaceutical or medical device environment

§ Must be self motivated, possess high energy and be able to work in a high pace environment

§ Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

§ Must be able to read and interpret basic written instructions and perform tasks and projects.

§ Must be able to interact in a dynamic team environment

§ Must have basic computer skills with Microsoft Word

§ Support and comply with all quality management systems, food safety and employee safety programs.

POSITION SUMMARY

This individual will provide leadership, guidance and supervision of hourly production employees with additional personnel from Quality Assurance, Mechanics & Warehouse personnel. Implements policies and procedures and recommends improvements in production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions as it pertains to all personnel.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

§ Directly supervise an assigned production team to achieve goals and problem solve while demonstrating a commitment to employees’ safety, teamwork, maintaining discipline and product quality so that daily production requirements are met

§ Must have the ability to communicate with a variety of people, managing multiple projects/priorities to meet production expectations

§ Solid organization skills, detail orientation skills and excellent follow-through skills.

§ Verify that the Production Lead has given the proper training and instruction in the assigned area to all line personnel

§ Enforces all T.H.E.M. GMP’s and SOP’s

§ Manage and utilize various production reports

§ Accomplish all paperwork in accordance with established time frames or record keeping requirements

§ Must arrive before the start of the shift to review production and verify all is organized and in order to assure a quick and efficient start

§ Assign duties and examine work for exactness, neatness and conformance to client’s specifications

§ Comply with safety regulations (OSHA) and maintain a clean and orderly work area

§ Covers for breaks and sudden absences by member of the team; meet or exceed the plant productivity goal for the shift

§ Responsible for providing first shift with an overview and recap of second shift events (quality issues, machine issues, maintenance, materials and production schedule changes, etc.) to ensure a timely start the following morning

§ Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
